May Storyteller is here!

Thank you for everyone who voted for the May Storyteller colors on my blog! I loved working with another bold and vibrant set of colors! Don’t forget to vote for my next storyteller collection here on my blog >> in the side bar.

This months storyteller collection has a simple color focus with very random, general and versatile elements. I omitted the Messy Borders + Frames pack this month and exchanged it with a template pack. I did however, include a couple page borders / overlays and a finished frame in the element pack so don’t worry:)
Also, the date pack this month is different. I made a layered journal card set of months that you can customize! Thank you to my Creative team for the idea!
I also included a small but very useful photoshop style in the Frames + Tags pack – quick frames styles will add a quick inner border in three different sizes and colors to your photos.

I would also love to share a little technique that I like to use when making layouts.

Brushes.

I love Brushes.

I always leave brush work on a layout for the very end. I like to use brushes behind my photos, page edges, page corners, and also to highlight journaling, dates or titles. It can really give your layouts that final touch which makes a huge difference!

Check out these examples:

Notice the brushed work behind the center focus of the layout and the brushed date in the bottom corner?

Here you will notice I used a brush as a mat for my text – it find it gives the layout a little extra character:)

So. That’s your challenge! Have a little more fun with brushes in the next while – you may grow to love them as an essential part of digi scrapbooking as I do!
